LYN CONNOLLY, Dr of Mechanics.
Lyn Connolly commenced his doctorate of mechanics with Porsche Volkswagen in 1965 and now has more than 50 years experience with engine design and building.
​
Once he had completed the equivalent of a seven year apprenticeship, Lyn moved into the research and development side of engine building to become Australia's fifth ever qualified dyno operator.
He was part of the team that built the first engine in Australia to break the 1500 horsepower barrier.
During his time at Micheal's Motors Lyn also held the BMP Altered record at 8.9 seconds for a Fiat based drag car he built, a record that was unbroken for several years.

After moving to Far North Queensland in 1984, Lyn took on defense and railway contracts and would oversee 210 air cooled Volkswagen engines for rebuild at a time.
Lyn has completed more than 3000 air cooled Volkswagen engine rebuilds and his experience and expertise also covers a vast range of high end machinery.
He has worked extensively with Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari, as well as all of the American muscles cars.
Lyn is a man who takes pride in his work, stands behind his word and aims for nothing less than excellence.
SHANNON CONNOLLY Mechanic & Engineer.
Shannon Connolly has been in the workshop since he could walk, fast developing a passion and talent for engine building under his father's tutelage.
He assembled his first air cooled Volkswagen at age 12 under Lyn's watchful eye and now has 20+ years experience in engine design and building.
​
Shannon studied accelerated engineering and went on to working with 100,000+Kw marine and land based motors.
He received Rolls Royce training in Europe before working on and developing 10,000Kw motors or both static power generated and marine power generated plants.
During this time he also managed to complete an automotive trade under his father to become a fully qualified mechanic with a specialty in engine building.

Shannon has extensively worked with a variety of brands including Volkswagen, Mazda, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Rolls Royce, Caterpillar, MTU, B&W, Sulzer and other heavy industry propulsion and power generation units.
​
He is also the proud owner of three of his five dream cars: a 1968 Volkswagen Squareback, an E Type Jaguar and an RX 4.
